Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day! Today I'm going to share with you the card that I made for my wonderful mother this year.

Of course, I found the idea for the card on Pinterest. Here was my inspiration:

Here's how my version turned out:

The string of flowers are tucked inside the pot.

Inside the card I layered a couple pieces of scrapbook paper and wrote a note.

I made a few changes to the original craft:
- I used three flowers instead of four.
- I used patterned scrapbook paper for each flower.
- I glued the flowerpot onto a folded piece of construction paper.
- I used hot glue.
- I made the grass by cutting slits in a piece of green construction paper.
- I used ribbon instead of string to attach the flowers.

This is a cute and simple card that I would definitely recommend making!

Stampin' It Up!

On Friday, a lady from the company Stampin' Up gave me and some of my friends a demonstration on how to make really cool paper cards. It was tons of fun!

This is the cover of the first card I created. The quote says "a friend loveth at all times." I used an embossing machine to created the 3D texture on the pink paper. On the right side, I punched two holes and threaded a piece of orange ribbon through them. The flower is make up of 3 flower punches and one glittery orange brad.

The saying "each day of life is a precious gift from God" is stamped inside the card.

The second card I made was already partly done. The "hello!' and the blue chevron was printed on the scalloped cardstock. I added a little bow, and a few flower punches with rhinestone centers.

I stamped the yellow border on the inside of the card as well as the saying "count your life by smiles not tears; count your age by friends not years."

This card also came with a white envelope with a yellow chevron pattern. I added the flower punches and then stamped "celebrate."

Definitely check out Stampin' Up if you're into paper crafts! It is a really cool company with all kinds of card-making, stamping, and scrap booking material.
