Chambray Shirts

I love my chambray shirt! It is definitely a versatile wardrobe staple. I purchased mine from Kohl's. You can wear it year-round, and it can go with jeans, leggings, skirts, shorts, and dresses! Wow! Here are some of the outfits that I created with my shirt.

This is a great cozy winter outfit. I paired my chambray shirt with some black leggings, a purple scarf, and Uggs.

For another cold-weather outfit, I have my chambray shirt on with jeans, a white cami, Uggs, and a blue and green necklace.

This is definitely a summer outfit. With the chambray shirt is a polka-dot cami, mint green shorts, a heart necklace, and a belt.

Finally, I kept this outfit nice and simple by pairing my shirt with a floral skirt. Perfect for spring!

Bulletin Board Redo

The other day I found this old bulletin board and decided to freshen it up.

First, the cork was taped off so it wouldn't get any paint on it.

Then, I painted it with two coats of white paint.

I added black polka dots with a paint marker.

And there you go! A new and improved bulletin board! I plan to put it in my room somewhere, but I'm not exactly sure where yet.

Brownie-Cookie Bites

For Valentine's Day, my mom and I made delicious brownie-cookie bites (my mom saw the idea on Facebook, so I'm not exactly sure where the original idea came from). Start off by whipping up brownie batter using a boxed mix (we used a Betty Crocker one) and a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough (we didn't have a mix on hand, so I used this recipe). Next, scoop brownie batter into a cupcake tray, filling up about half of each cup. Then, roll the cookie dough into little balls and place one on top of each cup. Put them into the oven, and voila, brownie-cookie bites!

I was so excited when my February Birchbox came! It is so fun to get a package in the mail. Here it is:

1. Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm (foundation)
2. LashFusion XL (mascara/ lash conditioner)
3. Nicole (perfume sample)
4. Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (face wash)
5. Ghiradelli Milk & Caramel Square (yum!)

I was happy to find that I got a full size (or almost full size) product (the mascara)! And you can't go wrong with chocolate... Overall, I was very happy with this Birchbox, and I am already anticipating next month's!

Winter Pinterest Styles

Here are some of my new favorite cozy winter outfits from Pinterest!

Great for a casual day.

I love the mustard color with the gray stripes.

Cute way of layering a chambray shirt.

Valentine's Day Party Favors

Last weekend I hosted a Valentine's Day party that was super fun! One of my favorite parts of planning a party is assembling the favors, and the ones I made for this event were quick, cute, and easy!

First up, I started with mini red and pink metal mailboxes from Target.

Aren't they adorable? The flags can even move up and down and both ends come off. Next, I bought these sample-sized lotions in "Berry Flirt" from Bath & Body Works.

I also added a packet of mint hot chocolate mix.

And of course you can't forget the candy! I bought milk chocolate and caramel Hershey's kisses.

I folded the hot cocoa mix and tucked it in the back of the mailbox. Then, I stuck the lotion in on its side and added Hershey kisses to fill up most of the remaining space.

And there you have it! Quick, cute, and easy Valentine's Day favors!
