Bulletin Board Redo

The other day I found this old bulletin board and decided to freshen it up.

First, the cork was taped off so it wouldn't get any paint on it.

Then, I painted it with two coats of white paint.

I added black polka dots with a paint marker.

And there you go! A new and improved bulletin board! I plan to put it in my room somewhere, but I'm not exactly sure where yet.

Brownie-Cookie Bites

For Valentine's Day, my mom and I made delicious brownie-cookie bites (my mom saw the idea on Facebook, so I'm not exactly sure where the original idea came from). Start off by whipping up brownie batter using a boxed mix (we used a Betty Crocker one) and a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough (we didn't have a mix on hand, so I used this recipe). Next, scoop brownie batter into a cupcake tray, filling up about half of each cup. Then, roll the cookie dough into little balls and place one on top of each cup. Put them into the oven, and voila, brownie-cookie bites!

February Birchbox

I was so excited when my February Birchbox came! It is so fun to get a package in the mail. Here it is:

1. Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm (foundation)
2. LashFusion XL (mascara/ lash conditioner)
3. Nicole (perfume sample)
4. Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (face wash)
5. Ghiradelli Milk & Caramel Square (yum!)

I was happy to find that I got a full size (or almost full size) product (the mascara)! And you can't go wrong with chocolate... Overall, I was very happy with this Birchbox, and I am already anticipating next month's!

Winter Pinterest Styles

Here are some of my new favorite cozy winter outfits from Pinterest!

Great for a casual day.

I love the mustard color with the gray stripes.

Cute way of layering a chambray shirt.

Valentine's Day Party Favors

Last weekend I hosted a Valentine's Day party that was super fun! One of my favorite parts of planning a party is assembling the favors, and the ones I made for this event were quick, cute, and easy!

First up, I started with mini red and pink metal mailboxes from Target.

Aren't they adorable? The flags can even move up and down and both ends come off. Next, I bought these sample-sized lotions in "Berry Flirt" from Bath & Body Works.

I also added a packet of mint hot chocolate mix.

And of course you can't forget the candy! I bought milk chocolate and caramel Hershey's kisses.

I folded the hot cocoa mix and tucked it in the back of the mailbox. Then, I stuck the lotion in on its side and added Hershey kisses to fill up most of the remaining space.

And there you have it! Quick, cute, and easy Valentine's Day favors!

Recent Nail Art

Usually, I paint my nails about once a week. Today, I thought I'd share with you three ways I've done them recently.

First, I used an adorable sparkly purple polish by Spoiled which you can grab at CVS for a $1.99.

Next up, I painted my nails with a bright orange from Sephora. For an accent nail, I used a caviar nail polish also from Sephora. The beads looked so cool, but they all fell off within a day.

Finally, I painted my nails for Valentine's Day! I LOVE pink nail polish!

Hair Accessories Organization

Last night I re-organized all of my hair accesories. Here is what my drawer was like before:

And after:
So much better! I put all of my bobby pins, barrettes, small clips, sports headbands, etc. into little individual containers towards the front of the drawer. At the back of the drawer I put all of my hair elastics and large clips. To organize my hair elastics, I have two rings that I keep them on. Here is one of them:

Also, I put all of my seasonal/costume hair accessories into a plastic bag which I also placed at the back of the drawer:

Finally, I put all of my brushes and combs in a hanging basket. I also hung all of my plastic headbands on the edge.

*Have a great weekend!*

Friday Mall Haul

This afternoon I took a trip to the mall. It was so much fun! There were some great deals and sales, so I was super happy. The most expensive thing I bought was $12. Not bad!

First up is this adorable striped cardigan from Target. I love how it has three different colors!

This shirt from Hollister starts with a light blue on top and gradually turns into a darker blue.

At Bath & Body Works I bought 5 mini hand sanitizers for $5 and a sample bottle of "Berry Flirt" lotion for $1.

This turquoise striped shirt is from Aeropostale. I LOVE the color! It's so springy!

Finally, of course I bought some nail polish at Target. I couldn't help myself. I needed a new black polish for nail designs (my other one is really bad quality and doesn't work well at all), and once I saw the other ones I just had to get them! I ended up buying three Sally Hansen Extreme Wears in "Black Out," "Sun Kissed," and "Red Carpet." I also picked up this adorable chevron duck tape in the dollar section.
