Anchors Away! Summer Nails

Happy summer everybody! When I was painting my nails the other day, I was inspired to do a nautical theme. Here is the outcome:

Anchors away! First I painted all of my fingers a base coat of yellow. Then, on the ring fingers I did blue stripes and on the thumbs I drew anchors. To create the stripes and anchors, I dipped a bobby pin into the nail polish bottle and drew the designs on the nails. When doing designs, always remember to put on a clear top coat. This is always good to do, but it is especially important for designs so they don't immediately chip off.

Have a great weekend!

Accesories Haul

Lately I have been doing some serious accessory shopping! I hadn't bought any accessories in a while, so it's nice to have some fresh new items to update outfits.

First, I bought this brown and pink tote bag for $10! It's perfect for a beach/pool bag and for traveling.

These adorable hair bows are from Icing. They were $8.50 each, but it was buy one get one half off, so the total was $12.75.

This isn't technically an accessory, but I purchased this hair spray from Bath & Body Works for $10 (I had a 20% off coupon). When you spray it in your hair, it creates beach waves.

Each of these headbands were $4.99 at Charlotte Russe.

At Charlotte Russe all jewelry was 2 for $10, so I picked up this long heart necklace and a set of 3 gold bracelets.

Also from Charlotte Russe, I bought these 2 pairs of sunglasses for $3.99 each.

These bracelets (from Charlotte Russe again) were $1.99 on clearance.

Finally, at Ulta my sweet dad bought this set of eye shadow applicators for me so I can refresh some of my old ones.

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!! I hope everybody is having a great time celebrating our country's birthday! Today I'm going to share my patriotic nails for this year and some Pinterest baking ideas.

Yesterday afternoon I painted my nails the colors of our flag to get me in a festive mood. The middle fingers and thumbs are red, the pinkies and index fingers are blue, and the ring fingers are sparkly white.

I didn't bake anything spectacular for the Fourth, but there's always next year! Below are some patriotic baking ideas that I would love to try someday (all from Pinterest, of course)!

This flag made out of star cookies is so cool!

These kabobs are made out of brownie bits, marshmallows, blueberries, strawberries, and a chocolate drizzle.

This layered cupcake is awesome! I love the sprinkles and the decoration on top.

As always, to repin anything, click on the picture and it will bring you directly to the pin on Pinterest.

***I hope everybody has a happy and safe Fourth of July!***

Fiesta Series- Pinatas!

This is my final fiesta series post! I hope it has inspired you to go out and throw your own Mexican party!

One of the best parts of a fiesta is, of course, the piñata! For my party, I purchased a piñata from iParty. Here it is:

I ended up hanging it in the backyard. There were 6 people and each person got about 3 turns to hit the piñata before it was destroyed.

Inside the piñata, I stuffed starbursts, Werther's hard caramel candies, and Hershey kisses. For each person, there was also a pack of gum, a Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer, and a lip gloss.

I hope you've enjoyed this fiesta series! If you missed any of the other posts, they are listed below.

Fiesta Series- Food

At my end-of-the-year fiesta, I served dinner and desserts to my guests. I created, printed, and laminated a menu for each person.

Appetizers:
Chips and Salsa

Main Meal:
Salad
Cheese Quesadillas
Spanish Rice

Desserts:
Non-Alcoholic Pina Coladas
Cupcakes

Table with Chips, Dips, and Salad

In this three way bowl there was cheese queso, sour cream (for quesadillas), and guacamole.

Everybody had one of these Mexican napkins.

Finally, here's the quick recipe for the non-alcoholic pina coladas.

Ingredients:
Pineapple Juice
Cream of Coconut
Crushed Ice

Directions:
Combine equal parts pineapple juice and cream of coconut along with the ice in a blender.
