Eeeeeek! Pumpkin DIY

While searching through Pinterest the other day, I found this adorable project from A.C.Moore.

I had to make one! For this project, you will need a small craft pumpkin, buttons, a sharpie, and a hot glue gun. I got my pumpkin for about $5 at Michael's along with the two little containers of buttons, which were $1.50 each.

To start off, begin by writing the word "eek" in sharpie across your pumpkin.

Next, using your hot glue gun, attach buttons to your pumpkin along the outline.

Continue to do this until the entire word is covered.

Finally, display your pumpkin! I placed mine on our mantel.

This is a quick, easy, and inexpensive decoration that will last for years! Happy October!

Fall Pinspiration

On Pinterest I have lately been inspired by many different stylish fall looks. I have been loving big comfy sweaters, boots, and the look of layering. I still have to wait for it to cool down a little more around here before I break out all of my thick clothes and shoes, but I'm excited! Here are some looks I love.

First off, I love this sweater, dress, and tights combination. It looks so cozy while  being stylish and girly.

This skirt paired with the tights, socks, and boots looks so cute!

I love the mixing of the polka dots and bow print in this outfit.

I love the colored leggings with the oversized sweater and printed bag.

Finally, this printed blue sweater with the messy bun looks adorable!

If you wish to repin any of these images, please do so by clicking on the picture and pinning directly from Pinterest. Thanks!

Snickerdoodle Granola Bars

I whipped up a bunch of these snickerdoodle cookie granola bars a couple of weeks ago and they were delicious! I ate one for lunch everyday for two weeks. They really do taste like snickerdoodle cookies, they are relatively healthy, and they require about 15 minutes and no baking. Also, they are gluten-free and vegan. Wow!

Ingredients

Putting the mix into the fridge

Ready!

The recipe is pretty self explanatory, and I did choose not to drizzle white chocolate on top. These snickerdoodle granola bars are easy to make and perfect for a delicious snack!

Bikini Bonanza

This morning I was cruising around Sears at our local mall when I happened upon the most amazing thing ever- racks and racks of adorable bikinis on CLEARANCE! However, the best part was that each bikini piece was... drum roll please... only $2.99 each! That is such a bargain! I couldn't resist this unbelievable end-of-season sale, so I picked up three complete bikinis for a total of $18.

This unique bathing suit has colorful rhinestones on the top and stripes on the bottom. I love it!

I love the bead work on this bikini top! It's so adorable.

Finally, I purchased this pink and orange bikini. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture, but it has lace detailing that form zebra stripes.

That's it for today! Check out this link to see all the bikinis at Sears.com!

Scarf Organization

My favorite accessories for fall and winter are fashion scarves! They are cozy, cute, and can complete so many different outfits. I have always stored my scarves on the inside of my closet door, and lately that area had been a disaster zone. So, of course I decided it was time for some new organization!

Before

I stopped by Bed, Bath, and Beyond and picked up this super cute scarf organizer in the shape of a purse!

After using the organizer, storing away thick winter scarves, and rearranging my belts, my closet door looks so much better!

While we're on the subject of scarves, here are two cute new ones that I picked up at Charlotte Russe when they were on sale for only $5! What a bargain!

Colored Denim- 5 Days, 5 Ways

Today I'm introducing a new series on my blog- 5 days, 5 ways! Every post in this series will feature a trendy wardrobe staple that I have styled in five different ways. I love taking pieces out of my closet and seeing how many outfits I can create, and this also helps me make the best out of the clothes I have.

I'm going to spotlight colored denim today, which is a big trend for the upcoming fall season. The pants I am wearing are a cobalt blue purchased from Kohl's.

First off, I paired my blue pants with a gray cardigan, a white lace tank top, and simple black flats.

Of course, I had to use my versatile chambray shirt! I also wore a leather beaded necklace and leopard flats for a pop of pattern.

For this outfit, I wore a black tee, a white cami, a heart necklace (which you can't really see), and leopard flats.

With the colored pants, I paired a striped tee with my Sperrys.

Also with the outfit above, I wore a blue hair bow that matches the pants perfectly!

For the final outfit, I wore brown combat boots with a white sweater and colorful scarf.

That concludes the first post in the 5 Days, 5 Ways series! I hope you enjoyed it! Which outfit was your favorite?

Peanut Butter Cookies

Last week I whipped up a batch of peanut butter cookies that I found on Pinterest. The recipe was great, and the cookies turned out AMAZING! You can find the recipe here and the pin here. The cookies were titled "irresistible peanut butter cookies," and I couldn't agree more.

I made a few slight changes to the recipe. I didn't make the optional chocolate dip. Instead, I added 2/3 cup of chocolate chips to the batter. I also didn't dip a fork in vegetable oil and sugar and spread it on top of the cookies.

One night, I even heated up a cookie in the microwave, scooped some vanilla ice cream on top, and finished it off with whipped cream. It was a scrumptious peanut butter cookie sundae!

Ready to go in the oven!

YUM!

These classic peanut butter cookies are delicious, and I definitely recommend making them!

Blue Manicure

What better way to start off the weekend than a manicure? Yesterday (Friday), I got my nails done at a local salon. I didn't even realize how much I needed a manicure until the lady spent about 10 minutes just on my cuticles!

I picked a beautiful blue color by Essie, which is perfect for the end of summertime. I believe it was called "Where's My Chauffeur," but I'm not positive.

The lady also did a cute flower design on each of my ring fingers.

As much as I love doing my nails at home, I also love the occasional treat of getting them professionally done. Happy weekend!

Back to School Supplies!

My favorite part of the back to school season is definitely shopping for school supplies! Target, Staples, and Wal-Mart have such great deals and I always stock up on everything I'll need throughout the year. Read on to see my supply must-haves!

First off, everybody needs lots of notebooks and folders!
I got these spiral bound notebooks for a penny at Staples! The top notebook is filled with graph paper, which is perfect for math.

Most of these folders were also very cheap at Staples. The top green and purple ones I purchased from Target for $0.50 each.

These pretty folders from Staples were a bit more pricey, but they are adorable!

I organize each of my school subjects into a 3 ring binder (one for math, science, history, etc.).

Each of these binders was a couple of dollars at Wal-Mart.

I love new art supplies!

And of course, pencils, Sharpies, gluesticks, and Wite-Out are necessities.
I prefer mechanical pencils because they don't have to be sharpened.

I use tape, index cards, rulers, and paperclips on a daily basis.

Index cards are great for flash cards!

These ribbon paperclips are from Michael's.

Colorful pens make correcting homework and classwork so much more fun!

When it's cold season, these pocket tissues always come in handy.

These cute packs are from Target.

Finally, to store all of the supplies I use daily, I carry around a pencil pouch.

This chevron pencil case was a couple of dollars at Target.

*Happy back to school season!*

Summer Fashion Class

Last week I took a fashion design class where we repurposed old clothing and created stylish new pieces. It was a blast, and today I'm going to share what I made!

First off, I made these lace trimmed-shorts out of an old pair of denim shorts. Check out the tutorial that I posted here.

Next, I made this summer-time tube top using this website. I used an old blue t-shirt, and added a panel of purple to each side.

I also transformed an old pair of plaid Bermuda shorts by cutting and hemming them.

I took a very large men's long-sleeve dress shirt and fitted it to myself, creating a tank top. The instructor helped me a lot with this project, but you can find out how to do it using a website like this.

Finally, I made this drawstring bag using squares from an old t-shirt. You can find instructions here. To create the design, I made a stencil out of iron-on paper, painted over it, and then peeled the stencil off.

 *** Happy Sunday! ***
